Integrative Physical Therapy

The Four Dimensions of Recovery

Twin Sun Healthcare method works through a unique blend of identifying and resolving issues in 4 areas:

Mechanical Restrictions

Think of mechanical restrictions like a piece of tape stuck on the fold of a T-shirt. It will restrict movement . By removing the tape movement is allowed. In the same way fascia and muscles and tendons and joints can get restrictions and manual therapies, Dry Needling will remove this restriction.

Neuromuscular Reprogramming

Movement is not just strength — it is coordination. A musician does not simply press piano keys; they learn timing, sequencing, and precise activation. The same principle applies to the body. Injury disrupts the coordinated firing of muscles, leading to compensation and inefficiency. Through techniques such as Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) and progressive neuromuscular training, we retrain the body to activate muscles in the correct sequence and restore fluid, efficient movement.

Active Movement Planning

Healing also requires conscious movement choices. Stability and efficiency improve when we intentionally activate key muscle groups before motion — for example, engaging the shoulder blades before reaching or adjusting posture and workspace ergonomics throughout the day. Active movement planning empowers patients to participate in their recovery by building awareness, improving mechanics, and preventing re-injury.

Psychological & Emotional Dimensions

Injury is never purely physical. Stress, emotional load, fear of movement, and unresolved psychological tension can contribute to pain and delay healing. Addressing these components helps reduce protective guarding patterns, restore nervous system balance, and prevent recurrence. By integrating physical rehabilitation with emotional awareness and nervous system regulation, recovery becomes more complete and sustainable.

Integrative Physical Therapy

Integrative Physical and Occupational Therapy at Twin Sun Healthcare is a whole-system approach to movement restoration and functional rehabilitation.

Each session combines orthopedic precision with neurophysiological and psychosocial awareness to address the Four Aspects of Healing that influence recovery:

1. Mechanical Restrictions – muscles, fascia, or joints limiting movement.
2. Neuromuscular Activation – impaired communication between the brain and targeted muscle groups.
3. Movement Planning & Coordination – dysfunctional motor patterns that affect posture, balance, and performance.
4. Cognitive & Emotional Factors – the mental and stress-related elements that perpetuate pain and delay healing.

By addressing all four dimensions, we not only restore movement but also retrain the nervous system to support long-term stability, adaptability, and ease.

Benefits

• Reduces acute and chronic pain through targeted manual and neuromuscular techniques
• Improves flexibility, posture, and overall movement efficiency
• Restores balance between mobility and strength
• Regulates the nervous system to promote faster recovery
• Enhances coordination, focus, and confidence in daily movement
• Provides practical tools for injury prevention and long-term wellbeing

What Makes This Approach Different

Most physical therapy models focus solely on isolated tissue repair.
The Twin Sun method integrates mechanical, neurological, behavioral, and emotional dimensions into a single clinical framework.
This ensures that interventions address both the symptom and the system—why dysfunction occurred, not just where it appeared.

Our clinicians blend manual therapy, neuromuscular re-education, Frequency-Specific Microcurrent (FSM) Therapy, and Dry Needling with breathing and cognitive retraining techniques to enhance nervous-system regulation.
The result is care that is restorative, individualized, and sustainable.

Specialized Areas of Focus

• Orthopedic & Sports Rehabilitation: Treatment of low back, neck, shoulder, hip, and knee injuries; repetitive strain and postural imbalance.
• Pelvic Floor Therapy: Addressing urinary, bowel, and sexual health for men and women with pain or functional limitations.
• Chronic Pain Management: Identifying mechanical and neurological contributors to long-standing discomfort.
• Performance Optimization: Movement efficiency training for athletes and active individuals.
• Telehealth Support: Secure remote sessions for guided self-mobilization, exercise, and movement analysis.

What to Expect

Your initial visit includes a comprehensive movement and postural assessment to identify which of the Four Aspects are contributing to dysfunction.

Treatment typically combines:
• Manual therapy and joint mobilization to resolve restrictions
• Neuromuscular re-education to restore proper muscle sequencing
• Corrective exercise to integrate new movement patterns
• FSM or Dry Needling to reduce pain and inflammation
• Breath and awareness training to support nervous-system balance and prevent recurrence

Each plan is customized to your physical goals, occupational demands, and stage of healing.

/ ABOUT US /

How can we help you?

We begin by examining your movement to determine the root cause of pain, often identifying mechanical restrictions like stiff joints or muscles. After resolving these restrictions with mobilization techniques, you will learn to actively move your system in a new, correct way for easy and free movement. Crucially, your treatment also includes learning cognitive skills to help prevent future injuries.

/ HEALTHCARE SERVICES /

We Provide a Range of Therapy Services

Integrative Physical Therapy & Occupational Therapy.

Integrative Physical and Occupational Therapy at Twin Sun Healthcare is a whole-system approach to movement restoration and functional rehabilitation.

Integrative Massage Therapy

Integrative Massage Therapy at Twin Sun Healthcare is a therapeutic, assessment-based approach to reducing muscular tension, improving circulation, and restoring functional mobility.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a therapeutic system within Traditional Chinese Medicine that restores the natural flow of Qi—the body’s vital energy. Through the use of fine, sterile needles placed at precise meridian points, acupuncture supports physical healing, emotional balance, and energetic harmony.

Migun Thermal Massage Therapy

Migun Thermal Massage Therapy combines infrared heat, spinal mobilization, and acupressure to promote circulation, release muscular tension, and stimulate the body’s self-healing mechanisms.

Trigger Point Dry Needling

Trigger Point Dry Needling at Twin Sun Healthcare is a targeted, evidence-based technique used to release muscular tension, deactivate myofascial trigger points, and normalize neuromuscular communication.

Frequency-Specific Microcurrent Therapy

FSM Therapy is an advanced therapeutic technology that delivers low-level electrical currents, measured in microamperes to stimulate the body’s natural healing mechanisms.

Telehealth

If you can't make it into the office for therapy, Bridgewrights also offers telehealth services. Through a secure video call we can guide you through self manual therapy (where we teach you to mobilize your own muscles), nervous system regulation techniques, stretching and strengthening exercises, and movement analysis in your own home.

Psychological Tools for Enhanced Recovery

Among the most common psychological components of injuries are worries, low concentration, depression, intolerance and disrupted sleep cycles. With chronic pain, often the body-mind duo has developed a pattern that feeds the mental components into the physical ones and vice versa, leading to a cycle that is difficult to break without the necessary tools of awareness.

Pelvic Floor Therapy

Pelvic floor physical therapy is used to treat incontinence, difficulty with urination or bowel movements, constipation, chronic pelvic pain, and painful intercourse. Women may see a pelvic floor specialist for treatment of vaginismus, endometriosis. Men may be treated for post-prostatectomy issues, painful ejaculation, premature ejaculation and urinary tract issues.

Orthopedic Injuries

Acute and Chronic Pain and injuries of the Low Back, Neck and Shoulder,  Hip and Knee areas alongside many others are some of the most common treated issues at our clinic with success.
